The best 10 Franciacorta wines of the 2022-23 season

Let's change region and move from Trentino to Lombardy, where we find our selection of the best 10 Franciacorta wines.
The Franciacorta phenomenon has been established for years, not to say decades, and it is certainly no longer a fad. There are many admirers of it and for many it is the best Italian sparkling wine appellation.
The production area extends south of Lake Iseo on mainly morainic soils, in the area that has been defined as the "Anfiteatro Morenico Sebino," and the grape varieties used are Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Erbamat, the latter recently introduced into the specification in the maximum amount of 10%, identified to increase territorial individuality and for its marked acidity, which makes it a "natural enemy" of the effects of climate change on early grapes such as Chardonnay and Pinots.
Here are our 10 samples, with the wines from the same score in alphabetical order according to producers. To read organoleptic descriptions and prices of the wines, click on the names.
