Top 10 Italian bubblies

Excellent Traditional Method sparkling wines are now being made throughout Italy, also in areas that up until recently were not known for producing interesting bubblies.
Traditional Method sparkling wines are by now being produced throughout Italy and not just in the more famous areas, those with prestigious appellations, above all in Lombardy, Trentino and Piedmont.
Many of these “bubblies” are made with native varietals and not just Chardonnay and Pinot Noir even if most are. And perhaps a new frontier has been opened with the discovery that many native Italian grapes, as well as regions that until were not considered particularly suited, can produce top-quality sparkling wine. This truly Italian “path” is increasingly being established and consolidated with wines we are convinced with be most interesting.
For now, our list has only one wine made with varietals different from the traditional ones but we are sure that it won’t be long before there will be many others in our ranking.
