A blend of 75% Corvina, 20% Corvinone and 5% Rondinella that ages for a year in tonneau barrels and three years in Slavonian oak barrels of various sizes. This year was the best of the lot even if the aroma was slightly influenced by the wood, something that should disappear in the short term. The warm notes and the blond spicy ones like cinnamon and vanilla are there but in an interesting balsamic framework while the scents of red fruit are evident yet not warm. While always elegant in its progression, this vintage has tannins that are more compact and thick. Because of this the finish is more flavorful and compact allowing this to remain an elevated and rewarding drop.
