Initially, this was a little closed on a reductive note of damp earth before the bouquet opened on scents of glutamate and raspberry and fresh mushroom. The mouthfeel is very fresh, of an unreal youth, and with breathing it expands significantly on a note of black truffle. The tannins are less massive than in the previous wine and there is a tad more freshness than with the 2006. This also still needs a few years, although less than the 2006. If you can’t wait, pair it with some succulent meat.
