This is a vintage I will never stop praising. The wine is complete, typical, but at the same time fruity and communicative. The ruby-garnet color is intense and vital while the aroma is outrageous. There is violet, white pepper, wild fennel, mint, milk cream, gingerbread, sweet licorice and Cappellano Barolo Chinato. Incredible. I spent half the morning sniffing it because I could not believe my nose. The mouthfeel is fresh, fruity and dynamic with tannins that can extend without drying and in the end there is a change in pace with a finish that is almost sweet from the fruit. This has the dynamism of the 2004 together with the mint of the 2006. The persistence is sweet, broad, stratified, with scents that continue to expand in the mouth. This will transmit emotions for many years to come. Being quite ‘embroidered’, this wine is not exactly spontaneous (nor are the others) but even the most fanatical fan of the ‘old style’ will love it. A Barolo on the same level of the best 1999 tasted, like Brunate-Le Coste Rinaldi, Margherita Massolino, Montefortino Conterno and the two unforgettable Ginestra Barolo from Conterno Fantino and Domenico Clerico.
