Variations of Nerello
In 2008, Palermo engineer Nino Bevilacqua acquired and restored Terrazze dell’Etna, a 36-hectare farm in Randazzo that today produces 120,000 bottles of wine a year. Its terraced vineyards are situated at altitudes between 650 and 1,000m meters above sea and it is here that Nino planted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to once again make a traditional method bubbly that was already being produced in the area at the start of the 19th century. Nerello Mascalese is naturally also cultivated and constitute the estate’s core business. In 2012, a sparkling Nerello made off the skins was produced for the first time.
