A Nerello Mascalese varietal that ages in used tonneau barrels for 12 months and has a ruby-red color. The sensation of red fruit is so full and pulpy in the bouquet that there would seem to be little room for anything else. But then, surprisingly, it extends with fresh and profound balsamic notes. The influence of the wood is evident from the wine’s spiciness but it is well-measured to express the grape with frankness and gentleness. Notes of dark spices accompany a strong and persistent floral component.
