Made from Albana di Romagna grapes, this wine can be considered extinct and the very few bottles left are in the possession of my friend Ivo Zoffoli, an historic Brisighella pharmacist, family friend for generations and an immense and extraordinary wine craftsman. Recently we tasted the 1874 (see this article). The wine has an unreal, yellow color and stands out with its decidedly citrusy and floral notes despite being over 150 years old. The quality of the wine is extraordinary, with a mouthfeel that is still cutting yet delicately sweet and caressing, with an epic finish that leaves the mouth surprisingly clean and precise.
Price: incalculable.
