Vintage tastings (12): Pre-1940

Three Barolo from the 1930s, something from France and Spain and then two exceptional Port vintages, 1923 and 1863. But the real surprise was an 1874 Vinsanto di Brisighella.
The following are authentic wine artifacts that come from the period between the two world wars when winemaking technology appeared to be primordial and very empiric. However, the truth is that the acquired knowledge of some producers allowed them to make masterpieces that have survived the test of time and lost only a minimal part of the great expressiveness and characteristics that were endowed with. Some of the wines tasted were from the private collections of friends and among these was Ivo Zoffoli who I would like to thank publicly. Not only is he a passionate wine lover but also a refined exert on wine as well as a great viveur from Brisighella.
