Made from only Sangiovese and aged for 18 months in French (Alier) barriques and then at least another six months in the bottle. The wine has a bright ruby color and a classic bouquet of black cherry and red fruits with an austere touch of autumn underbrush and nuances of tobacco and orange. The mouthfeel has a medium body, settled tannins and an elegant progression that is not muscular but flavorful. An austere yet rewarding wine and very Chianti Classico.
