An equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay and a textbook example of a Cuvée de Prestige. This generous year produced both quality and quantity with the fully ripened grapes standing out for their boldness while, at the same time, preserving their freshness. Vinification took place entirely in stainless steel, with a third of the wine not undergoing malolactic fermentation, and the wine sat on the lees for almost ten years.
The Champagne has a luminous, golden-yellow color and a bouquet of honey-barley cookies and gingerbread, dark citrus fruit, candied ginger and rhubarb, yellow plum jam and a balsamic-iodine touch. The mouthfeel is thick and wrapping with notes of apple spice and tea and a citrus freshness with a savoy flavor that releases energy from the concentration of the fruit and finishes with nuances of brioche.
