Francesco Tessari is without a doubt one of the new, great Soave producers. Monte de Toni 2012, aside from having a simply extraordinary quality/price ratio, is one of those wines that can surprise even a seasoned expert. It is made with only Garganega grapes and ages in steel. The bouquet has slightly mineral notes that precede those of yellow plum and medlar. The flavor is gritty and distinct, even rough, but full of personality and character. The aftertaste is subtle yet very long.
