A blend of 80% Verdicchio and 20% Chardonnay with the Verdicchio fermenting and aging in stainless steel, while the Chardonnay ferments in stainless steel to then age in tonneau barrels. After blending, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation and sits on the lees for 52 months. No dosage is added when the wine is disgorged and it has a sugar residue of 1.7g/l. The wine has a bold, straw-mustard color, a fine effervescence and subtle aromas that are not too complex with notes of dried fruit (toasted almond), linden and iodine. The attack of the mouthfeel is very dry while at the center of the mouth the salt component literally explodes. The persistence is pronounced and not too bitter (thanks perhaps to the Chardonnay which tones down the Verdicchio) and the aftertaste has sensations of lemon peel, almond and iodine with a salty finish. A measured bubbly with great finesse.
