This Riserva is naturally 100% Nebbiolo with the grapes macerating on the skins for ten days after which the wine is transferred into glass-lined cement vats where it undergoes malolactic fermentation before maturing for three years in large oak barrels. The wine then ages in the bottle and reaches the market six years after harvest.
The color is as hypnotizing as it is typical and while seemingly transparent its remains bright. The aromas are almost sweet and create an endless concert of alternating rose and violet notes. The lavish mouthfeel advances sumptuously without hesitation with its splendid tannins and excellent freshness towards a distinct and saline finish that never seems to end. As you can tell, I liked this a lot.
