A Sangiovese aged in barriques for 24 months. This is a great Chianti classic that, while much criticized by trendy critics, is a wine that reflects a concept. The color is an intense and intact ruby while the bouquet needs to breathe a few minutes in order to express its intense red fruit sensations, notes of cola and dark floral scents with lots of spice in the background. The mouthfeel is definitely muscular yet upheld by rich, lively but never bitter tannins, while the texture is thick as is the progression towards a broad and vigorous finish.
