Less than 4,000 bottles are made of this Blanc de Blancs produced from a careful selection of Chardonnay grapes grown on old vines in the Premier Cru village of Ecueil and Grand Cru village of Bouzy. The wine is made exclusively in wood without malolactic fermentation, barriques from Burgundy that have been used two or three times, with frequent batonnage or paddling. After sitting almost 48 months on the lees, the wine is disgorged by hand (in this case in January 2015) without any addition of a sugar dosage.
The wine has a luminous color with golden reflections and the bouquet has notes of yellow plum, tangerine, apricot tart and candied ginger together with a delicate yet persistent note of toasted almond praline. The mouthfeel is velvety and fresh yet has a distinct body and a personality that stands out thanks to its savory finesse of its progression, which leads to a note of dry cookies and an almost tropical sunniness.
