The intense ruby color is not to too dark but it holds up. The aroma has a rare complexity with nuances of anise and gorse, followed by a light balsamic streak of mint that permeates the classic scents of cherry, at various stages of maturity, and mulberry. The taste is rich, intense, with the classic flavors that represent this vineyard's trademark along with its lively acidity and tannins that are never grouchy. The finish is also rare and is consistent with the warm scents of tobacco and rose.
