A blend of 60% pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay grapes from the estate’s oldest vineyards (up to 50 years) in Louvois in Montagne de Reims. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is 60% from a single vintage with the remaining 40% composed of vins de reserve. After aging on the lees for 26 months, the wine is disgorged by with the addition of a dosage of around 7-8g/l of liqueur maison. This is a very ‘marine’ Champagne with distinct iodine notes and those of white fruit. The effervescence is very fine and the mouthfeel fresh and dynamic with an austere yet elegant and salty finish.
