The Lambrusco craftsman
Danny Bini is an extraordinarily humble and kind man. He is also a craftsman who uses Lambrusco grapes from the province of Reggio Emilia, an area that has seen a major improvement in quality.
He is also a tireless champion of sustainable agriculture and minimum interference in the winery, which has entailed bringing back more ‘ancestral’ winemaking methods. His wines are generous and tied to a concept that cannot be separated from extreme care taken in the vineyard.
Having grown up in this land of Lambrusco, Ponente 270 is what immediately comes to mind when I recall Veronelli’s praise of the great “peasant wines”.
