Vigneto San Floriano Valdobbiadene

Fully entered in the houses of all the lovers of bubbles, in every corner of the world, Prosecco is a sparkling wine that can be found at very reasonable prices.

In spite of those who believed it was a temporary phenomenon, the worldwide success of Prosecco is indisputable. We are not going to go through the steps of its worldwide success as the most loved sparkling wine by young people, the Italian aperitif that is trendy. We just want to suggest you four of them which, for many reasons, are really worth buying.

Three of them are Prosecco Superiore Docg: two from Valdobbiadene and one from Asolo. The fourth is a Treviso Doc, but produced by one of the best producers in Valdobbiadene. They have in common, besides the undeniable pleasantness of drinking, the price within 13 euros.

Let's start with one of the most classic producers. In the heart of the Docg Conegliano Valdobbiadene area, in Refrontolo, there is Tenuta Val De Brum, historical headquarter of Astoria. It was established in 1987 thanks to Paolo and Giorgio Polegato. Forty hectares of vineyards producing high quality still and sparkling wines. The winery's name is mainly associated to Prosecco. Extreme care is also given to packaging which emphasizes the fashionable style of the winery.

Another historical winery is located in Valdobbiadene: Bortolomiol. Even though its origins are dated back to the eighteenth century, it is since the second postwar period that the winery counts anniversaries. Giuliano Bortolomiol, as a student of the prestigious School of Enology of Conegliano, is passionate about the rebirth of the vineyards of the area and about the elevation of Prosecco from a simple local product to a sparkling wine known in Italy and abroad. He became a master in the use of Martinotti-Charmat method, in fact he is the first one to make Prosecco Brut. Today, it is his four daughters Elvira, Giuliana, Luisa and Maria Elena to lead the company while keeping intact the principles of tradition, quality and territory.

And now we come to him, Primo Franco, the lord of Prosecco. It was him, in fact, who gave a modern approach to the family business, Nino Franco, founded by his grandfather in 1919, focusing on glera grapes and on the terroir of Valdobbiadene. Graduated from the school of Conegliano Veneto, full of enthusiasm, since the seventies he dedicated himself to develop the production activity in the company and the commercial activity abroad, conquering palates all over the world. Besides the wonderful Prosecco Superiore, the winery also produces a deliciously simple Prosecco di Treviso.

Let's change territory and move to the area of Montello and Colli Asolani, where Asolo Prosecco Docg comes to life. Francesco Serafini and Antonello Vidotto are the two souls of this winery in Nervesa della Battaglia. A historical place surrounded by the ruins of the Abbey that hosted Monsignor Della Casa and that saw him write, between 1551 and 1555, the Galateo. Here the two owners, enologists and farmers, produce great red wines to which they add the typical bubbles of their land.
