Distinct character
There are no two ways about it, Lambrusco is having its day. More precisely the various Lambrusco given that this fortunate name is applied to a host of different wines, from the pale Sorbara ones that responds so well to the palate, to the Traditional Methods bubblies that at times are a little too ambitious but more often than not well-justified, to those made using the Ancestral Method which are rightfully adored by the better informed wine lover.
In Castelvetro di Modena, Lambrusco above all means very colorful and rich bubblies which sometimes have a distinct tannic depth. A case in point is Canova from Fattoria Moretto, where the grapes grow in a soil rich in clay that exalts their structure, which is the richest wine from this leading estate in the Modena hills.
Let there be no doubt, this area is an international reference point for those who love sparkling wine.
