Courtesy and a biodynamic approach
The Di Filippo estate in the town of Cannara and the area of Sagrantino. A visitor there is immediately struck by the courtesy with which they are welcomed and the evident commitment to organic and biodynamic farming, as is also indicated on the road sign indicating its location. The vineyards are a classroom for this agricultural and philosophical approach, from the local grape varieties cultivated to the geese wandering through the rows (to keep the grass trimmed) and the use of horses to limit the packing of the ground. These extreme choices combine usefulness with communication. Should you wish, you can even have a tour of the vineyards in a horse and carriage. But all this aside, what is more interesting are the wines the number of which is quite vast, perhaps too many for the size of the estate. Here we look at the Farandola, a decidedly alluring white made from Trebbiano Spoletino grapes.
