A perky Gutturnio
The Marengoni family has been producing wine since the beginning of the 20th century in Val Nure, in the province of Piacenza. Their aim is to make Gutturnio an important, structured and top quality wine that can rival Italy’s best. And to do this they have sought excellence in all phases of production, from the vineyard to the winery to the final product. This has resulted in wines that have a lot of body, an unusual boldness and a complexity that is far from the stereotype Gutturnio has suffered from. In 1980, they acquired the Casa Bianca where they have put their philosophy into practice.
From their vast line of production, from traditional local wines to more international ones, I have selected a wine that pairs extraordinary well with any meal and has an almost unmatched quality/price ratio.
