Piazza delle Erbe, la birra aromatica di Ofelia

In December 2012, Lisa Freschi and Andea Signorini started their Ofelia brewery, a deserving and positive consequence of a passion for beer that began in 2007 following a trip to Belgian and a visit to the De Ranke brewery in Dottignies. In order to meet an ever-growing demand for their beers, in 2016 Lisa and Andrea expanded their brewery by moving it by some 100m and building a structure that could produce 12 hectoliters, much larger and efficient than the initial one that produced 1.2 hectoliters.

There are now 11 Ofelia (Ophelia) brews and none of them strictly follow traditional styles but are more interpretations based on the personal tastes of their creators: sommelier Andrea and chef Lisa who own and operate the Allegra Trattoria Società Dei Freschi restaurant in Altavilla Vicentina. Their brews are unique creations, complex hoppy or malty nectars some of which are enriched by ingredients that are more or less secret.

Among all their beers here we have chosen Piazza delle Erbe, a gluttonous, sensual, inebriating and rich Saison that has been aromatized with ten spices and herbs and is dedicated to all the Piazza delle Erbe (Herb Squares) throughout Italy, places where diverse gastronomic cultures meet, markets full of exotic inspirations that allow one to travel with their mind.
