Magistralmente birbante, anzi Beerbante

A “birbante” is a scamp, a rogue, but the word is also used in an affectionate sense to describe someone who is clever, who has cheek. The “bribante” of the Italian beer world is Paolo Pezziga who used a play on words for the name of his brewery: Il Beerbante. Established in 2009 in Colorno, in the province of Parma, Paolo’s is an example of a multifunctional brewery and aside from his own brews he has always also worked for third parties. This has allowed him to become one of the best master brewers in Italy. His imagination, openness, respect for tradition and determination are the ingredients of his day-to-day efforts to bend over backwards to do as much as he can. All these elements go into his own line of production of eight brews with inspiration coming from, among others, Biancaneve (Snow White) and Santa Claus, each with varying in styles colors and aromas.

Of the eight, here we have selected Magistrale, an exemplary Golden Ale that is rich, persistent, hoppy and ‘intransigently’ bitter. A showcase beer
