Veglio Evo Oil, the only one in Piedmont
Azienda agricola Piero Veglio is the only olive oil producer selected by Flos Olei oil guide in Piedmont. The farm, situated on the ridge of the hills of Monferrato, dates back to 1921, when the discovery of a 25-year old olive tree, witness of the existence of this cultivation in the region, made the family Veglio turn principally to olive growing.
There are 4 hectares of specialized olive grove with 1,200 trees. In the last harvest 80 quintals of olives were produced, equal to about 10 hectoliters of extra virgin olive oil. They produce three kind of extra virgin olive oil: two blends, Evento and Robur, and Origine, a single olive variety (Frantoio).
