The pioneer of Ravello
In 1962, Ettore Sammarco created a winery in Ravello, in the heart of the Amalfi coast, to produce wines that were deep rooted in tradition. Today, at the splendid age of 80, he can look back with satisfaction at the success his estate has had as well as that of the whole winemaking area where he was a pioneer.
For some years now he has been joined in the winery by his children Bartolo, Maria Rosaria and Antonella who in this incredible setting continue to produce with passion and professionalism what Ettore created. The winery has always used the so-called ‘minor’ local grape varieties including Pepella, Ripolo and Serpentaria which are only found in small areas along the coast and that give Sammarco wines their strong typicity and particular personality.
