The harmony of Carmignano
Enrico Pierazzuoli is from Prato and has always believed in the wines of his land. These are first of all Carmignano, which he produces at the Tenuta Le Farnete estate, and Chianti Montalbano, which while produced at Tenuta Cantagallo in the province of Florence is still considered to be a ‘Prato Chianti’.
Tenuta Le Farnete is in the municipality of Carmignano, more precisely in the hamlet of Cormeana, and has been in the family since 1990. It has 50 hectares of land of which 11 hectares are vineyards, 15 hectares olive groves and the rest forest land. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon compose the classic blend of Carmignano and they dominate the vineyards, where the vines vary from 10 to 40 years of age. Much more recent is the hectare of Aleatico that was planted in 2007 in order to produce a red Passito dessert wine
