Tabarrini and Trebbiano Spoletino

Known above all for his Sagrantino di Montefalco, Tabarrini also produces a splendid Trebbiano Spoletino, Adarmando
Giampaolo Tabarrini has a fiery personality as well as a passion for his wine and his land that borders on fanaticism. He is a man of a bygone era who distinguishes himself by his ideas and has no fear of being politically incorrect. In other words, he’s my kind of guy.
Giampaolo has 12 hectares of vineyards and a winery that seems supersized (for the moment) but his new ideas regarding fermentation and storing wine demanded greater space. Time will be the judge.
Already one of the leading producers of Sagrantino, of which he makes three versions,, for the past 15 years or so he has been working with Trebbiano Spoletino, a variety that represents a new frontier for Umbrian white wines. Do not be misled by the name because this grape has nothing to do with Trebbiano being a more delicate varietal with nuances that are much more complex.
We found the 2015 Adarmando to be particularly pleasing.
