Mario’s Lunarossa
Mario Mazzitelli is an enologist with important international experience who has been working at his own estate Lunarossa since 2006. It is situated in the area of the Parco di Monti Picentini which expands from Salerno almost to Taurasi. His some five hectares of vineyards are organically farmed, although not certified, and he cultivates Aglianico, Fiano, Falanghina, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for an annual production of 50,000 bottles. For certain varieties, Mario has rediscovered and employed old winemaking methods like using amphoras with truly interesting results.
