La Giostra of Oltrepò
A specialty of Montelio winery, in Oltrepò Pavese, is the Müller Thurgau and the 2013 version if the Igt La Giostra proves it.
Sisters Caterina and Giovanna Brazzoli are the seventh generation of a family that over a century and a half ago founded this famous Oltrepò estate. Some of you may remember the enthusiastic reviews Luigi Veronelli wrote about it in the 1970s in his Catalogo Bolaffi dei Vini d’Italia. The estate continues to produce interesting and well-made wines with a particular predilection for Müller Thurgau, which has been their specialty for decades now.
