Mille anni alle spalle

The Lantieri are an aristocratic family originally from Paratico, in the province of Brescia, where there is evidence of their presence dating back to the year 1000. In the 16th century they moved to Capriolo where they still are with their historic winery and a modern one. They have 20 hectares of vineyards in the towns of Capriolo and Adro with some having more of a clay silica soil while others have more gravel and more chalk. The soil is particularly good for Chardonnay which is the main grape they cultivate. They began producing Franciacorta in the early 1970s thanks to Giacomo Lantieri.

Here we review Franciacorta Riserva Brut Origines 2008, the estate’s most ambitious wine.
