Villa Sparina Brut, light and very agile

A surprising Traditional Method sparkling wine made from Cortese grapes in Gavi by a top estate, Villa Sparina.
While at first it might seem strange, but what may be the lightest of the great Italian white wines, Gavi, can be transformed into a bubbly of great robustness. However, this robustness is one full of grace that in that in the hands of a great winery like Villa Sparina it serves as the base of a sparkling wine that is simply surprising as well as excellent and can also transmit the particular characteristics of the area of Monteotondo with extreme clarity.
The grapes are from the northern part of the town, where the wines are exalted by smoky notes. The result is a sparkling wine that may not be to everyone’s taste (if you want something muscular and fruity then look elsewhere) but may just hit the spot.
Should you be in the area, stop in at Villa Sparina where aside from the wine you will find an excellent restaurant and a very beautiful resort.
