This was tasted thanks to my drinking buddy Ivo, the historic pharmacist of Brisighella. He is the only person in the world who has access to these timeless masterpieces which I have had the pleasure and honor to taste with alarming frequency. Diletti was an historic Brisighella family that was blessed with the art of creating wine masterpieces like this one. The wine’s golden-yellow color seems almost unreal for how intact it is, constituting an authentic winemaking mystery. The aromas are decidedly citrusy and floral and are so intact they seem embalmed. The mouthfeel is very taut and fresh thanks to a frightening acidity that almost makes it seem like a Riesling.
