It is not easy to produce a good demi-sec, one in which the sugar component is even more hardy and must be upheld by a good texture, and this is even more difficult when the demi-sec in question is a rosé. Nevertheless, Alessandro Bianchi and his family succeeded with this blend of 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir that is surprising for its measured refinedness. The color is a coppery pink and the nose sharp with its scent of freshly picked strawberry and currant while the finish has tropical nuances of lychees and tamarind. The mouthfeel has a rhythmic and pleasing attack and harmonious close that becomes candied, like violet and rose-flavored sugar drops. Delicious.
