Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2013

This estate has a unique, extreme style, wines that are always sharp, dry and saline which you either like or do not like. These wines seem lithe but their persistence is notable, as it their ability to age. These wines are always aggressive when young but then mellow wonderfully. This vintage has a pale straw-yellow color with green reflections and a bouquet of ‘cold’ notes of gooseberry, yellow citrus fruit, pink grapefruit, mallow and medlar. The strong acidity makes mouthfeel quite sharp but it is also agile and has persistent salty notes. An elegant wine.
