A blend of 60% Corvina, 25% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella and 5% mixed native varietals (Oseleta, Croatina and Pipiona). After macerating on the skins for two weeks in September, the wine is “re-passed” or allowed to further macerate for 10 days on the skins of the raisinated grapes used to make Amarone. The wine goes on to mature for 12 months in 50hl barrels and then another six months in 7hl barrels. The ruby color is slightly pale but maintains its chromatic vibrancy while the bouquet is of white cherry and a distinctive host of spices including green, pink and white pepper together with a floral hint and one of bramble. The very elegant mouthfeel has a medium texture and a lovely progression that is in no way commonplace while the finish is persistent and elegant. A wine you never want to see finish.
