A dry winter and a balanced spring was followed by fickle summer with alternating hot days and storms and a cold August. The season was saved by good weather in mid-September while the harvest was slightly late. A careful selection of grapes was essential to offset the mold caused by the humidity present as the grapes were drying. The garnet color has orange reflections and the bouquet plays on notes of wild berries and medicinal herbs, including sweet scents of laurel and elder. The mouthfeel is less complex than in the other vintages and the finish is delicate also because of the soft tannins.
