It was by no means easy but the vineyards of Castel Juval and the stubbornness of Martin Aurich performed a miracle. Windbichi, a magnificent Rhine Riesling, has smoked and thiol aromas along with well-defined notes of grapefruit and wild flowers. The impact of the mouthfeel is excellent, full and very taut, with some sweet sensations, more like a Spatlese than an Auslese. The finish is subtle and has a surprising length.
