An unfair comparison considering Musigny is considered an unmatchable appellation in Burgundy. The color is unusually intense for this wine and indicates a high consistency. The aroma only seems compressed and comes out in the glass with force and energy more than complexity. The scents are of black cherry, raspberry, licorice and pine bark with a lingering balsamic sensation that becomes one of eucalyptus. After some textbook spice, the flavor reveals it strength and character maintaining the fruit throughout the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is full, rich and robust with a strong impact on the palate. Even after ten years it still seems to have a long life ahead of it.
