Monteriolo 1997 Chardonnay

We start off with an aperitif of this historic Piedmont white, famous not only for its bold body but above all its extraordinary ability to age. The color is an intense golden yellow, the aroma rich in ripe fruit, Alpine butter, white peach, without any trace of oxidation. A hint of wood introduces a soft, opulent and meaty flavor. The finish is quite abrupt for this representative of opulent Piedmont Chardonnay wines (keeping in mind Gaja and Rey, Bertelli's Giarone, Chardonnay Massolino & C).
