Enologist Carmine Festa gave this a rating of 3-4 stars out of five. “1995 was a vintage rich in malic acid and the wine is slowly completing its malolactic phase,’’ Francesco Paolo Valentini warned us. In fact, to the palate the carbon dioxide was just a tad over the top and this affected the aroma and the finish. The color was incredibly young, a ruby-black with garnet-walnut reflections, and the mouthfeel had a bold fruit flavor and very sweet tannins. The wine definitely needs to age more and could evolve incredibly.
