For me, Montée de Tonnerre is the victim of an historic mistake in classification because more than often it is even better than the ‘official’ Grand Cru wines. It has a rich, yellow color with golden reflections and the attack of the aroma is one of orange blossom before breathing brings out wonderful notes of white rose and a top-notch array of assorted scents together with smoky and iodine tones. A wine to drink by the bucket if you’re not driving.
