A worthy comparison that in a blind tasting left some participants in doubt even if in the end they did identify it. The aroma matched that of the French champions for both its elegance and complexity. Blood-red oranges, summer fruit (watermelon... but don't tell Roberto Conterno) and wild flowers. The flavor was its trump card, energetic and virile, with thick tannins that are never invasive, and the prospect for a very long life fitting for a true thoroughbred. It had no problem holding its own.
