Phenomenal. Here again age has given it nuances and aspects that youth had denied it. This 1978 is pure sensorial poetry. The color has remained luminous even if it is a bit more faint. The aromas are inebriating, although by now dominated by ethereal maturity and balsamic notes. However, this in no way means aging in the bottle has repressed the wine’s killer instinct to hyper-stimulate taste buds, quite the contrary. The details of the bouquet are at their utmost level, very difficult to identify as they evolve in the glass. The mouthfeel has become a silk drape, caressing where it once almost raped. The wine’s energy is still amaing, just as its infinite aftertaste is surprising.
