A Verdicchio varietal that ages on the lees for 12 months. It is no secret that the best Verdicchio grapes in cold years, which some considered minor, produce sharp wines that have a longer lifespan even though they may be lacking in body. This is true of this excellent Misco 2014 which has a medium yet very lively and vital straw-yellow color and initially closed aromas. Once the bouquet opens there are notes of chamomile, seawater and roasted almonds. What is most striking is the mouthfeel which is a bit ‘square’, slightly quick in evolving but nicely incisive and long with a finish of seawater and mustard flower. Already good now (never drink below 14C), this wine will peak beginning in 2018.
