Made from only Primitivo grapes grown in the areas of Maruggio, Lizzano and Torricella exclusively in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine has a luminous, ruby color and a clean aroma of cherries and ripe blueberry and blackberry creating a sensation of chocolate-covered cherries and licorice. The flavors are consistent with a mouthfeel that is fresh and balanced beyond expectations with pleasing balsamic and licorice notes in the background. It is also long, persistent and balanced with soft tannins that are hardly noticeable. An excellent table wine that leaves your mouth clean and entices another sip.
This wine easily pairs with meat, game and cheese. It is perfect with the local cuisine, dishes like bombette pugliesi and pork capocollo roulade stuffed with canestrato pugliese cheese. Try it chilled in summer.
