This was one of the driest years in the past 30 with a drought that lasted from the end of March through October. The color is amazingly intact, distinctly ruby. The aroma still has traces of wood (coconut standing out) but the flavor does not dry out the palate and is, in fact, quite rich. There is no lack of freshness and the notes of violet and black truffle are lovely. An impressive wine that still needs to age some.
