A small, six-hectare estate that produces only Traditional Method wines from vineyards of Pinot Nero between Calosso and Cossano Blebo and those of Chardonnay in Santo Stefano Belbo, areas known for producing great Moscato and that sit at an altitude of between 300 and 350m above sea level. Here brothers Marco and Alberto Cane, with the help of their father Piero, a well-known enologist, decided to make their vintage wine in barriques, 70% of which were over ten years old, and then letting it sit on the lees for 42 months followed by a dosage of 3.5g/l. The wine has a fine effervescence and a golden, straw-yellow color with a bouquet of white flowers, butter cookies and fragrances of bread. The intense mouthfeel has a distinct tension upheld by a balance of vigorous and lissome energy.
