A blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Canaiolo that has a darker color than the previous two vintages, more of a ruby-garnet, and which is truly surprising and limpid. The bold and assorted bouquet has spice notes that are a tad dark but “refreshed” by a distinct balsamic component along with elegant hints of aromatic herbs, myrtle, mushrooms, tobacco and cocoa powder. The mouthfeel is very appealing with elegant tannins and a very taut acidic-saline dynamism. The aftertaste is of fruit jam with spice and hints of damp earth.
